Dr Motchila Innocente | Clinical Psychologist
Evidence-based therapy in Farringdon, London and Online
Expert, collaborative therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress and other psychological difficulties.
Extensive experience supporting neurodivergent adults, including autistic adults and adults with ADHD.
With over 20 years’ experience in mental health, in both the NHS and private practice, I provide individual therapy for adults experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties.
I specialise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) while drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches including Compassion Focused Therapy, mindfulness and integrative approaches to tailor therapy to your individual needs.
My aim is to offer a safe space that supports understanding, self acceptance and meaningful change.
What brings people to therapy
Most people don’t arrive at therapy the moment things get hard. They adapt, push through and find ways to cope, until those ways stop working, and what once felt manageable no longer does. There is no threshold you need to meet before asking for support. You don’t need to be in crisis and you don’t need to know exactly what you want from therapy before we begin. Many of the most important conversations happen in the first session, when we start to make sense of what has brought you to therapy.
People come to with many different issues, including anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-esteem, sleep problems, grief, relationship difficulties and the lasting effects of trauma. Some are navigating a specific life event or transition, others are dealing with patterns that have been present for years.
I have a specialist interest in supporting neurodivergent adults, and people going through the changes and challenges of perimenopause and menopause.
Whatever has brought you here, the fact that you are looking is a meaningful step.
About me
I’m Dr Motchila Innocente, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience in both the NHS and private settings, holding a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University College London. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I accept Bupa referrals.
I believe that good therapy begins with genuine curiosity about the person in front of me, not just the difficulties they are experiencing, but the broader context of their background, relationships, culture and identity. I draw on my training and experience of a wide range of therapy approaches, including CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness based approaches, to work collaboratively to develop a therapy that fits you, rather than the other way around.
